What do you mean that you use a leash to keep him from walking away? Good grief, your puppy is only fourteen weeks old.

Hi I recently just got myself a maltese. He is 14 weeks old but every time I try to train him he prefers to walk to his bed, even with the bed removed he will sit in a corner or anywhere he will feel cosy in. What do you recommend? I used to have a chow chow but she learnt each trick within less than a day so I am being very patient with this one =)

However the only thing I can think of is to use a leash to stop him walking away??

My Maltese Puppy is able to sit and stay but we cannot teach him how to lie down. We have already tried making him sit and then putting a treat on the ground in front of him in my hand but he just stands up.

About 3 months of age seems to be a pretty good age to start training your Maltese.

Misty is soo cute! And smart! I've been thinking about getting a Maltese myself, but i've read that they are resistant to strangers and don't like to be around anyone but the owner.. Also, that they bark a lot. Everyone I know seems to love their Maltese, but it would be great to hear from a real owner. Any help would be great!

Our Maltese is 12 months and he's in obedience training. He wants to do his own thing, so I certainly hopes he graduates.
