Crufts Dog Obedience 2006

This is a video of my Working Sheepdog, Paddy, Malaridge Pitstop Paddy OW, at Crufts 2006. We were competing in the Inter-Regional Competition in Class 'C'. All my training is positive and motivational, with NO negative training aids, ie, choke chains, pinch collars or 'making' the dog do it. They do it because they enjoy it. Simple as that....

Beautiful training. It inspires me to keep working on my dog through hard times when i watch something like this.

Do you mean Distance Control (positions at a distance)? If you do – that’s part of the UK competition in Class C and Championship C.

Here in the United States, we do not have a Distance Heel in our Obedience tests. Is that a regular part of the Crufts Obedience exercises, or is it just a part of your exhibition? I train it as part of my dogs distance training and to challenge his heeling skills, and he has been naturally skilled at it since we began training. Do a lot of UK freestyle and heel to work exhibitors use Distance Heeling in their routines? Thanks!
